Comic 151: Game Designers Studio - part 2

Game Designers Studio - part 2

("Been taking a short break from comics but I'm back", apparently means "not uploading anything for almost 2 months because I haven't felt like drawing or making much stuff at all"... oh well)

This "new company"'s disguise is seen right through, and it's explained in more detail he would have to do this just to make a game...

(And I haven't forgotten about the E3 comic! Though I might consider doing it somewhat differently this year...)

And if they made a game that could be fully enjoyed without a bunch of extra GBAs and people around, this truly would've been a happy ending

by Zanreo at 1st Jul 2018, 9:39 AM

True... Requiring it for multiplayer does not sound like the best idea

by JammyTheBirb at 24th Jun 2018, 3:23 AM

Pfft I love that Square has a belt on his head, as a kind of precursor to Square Enix and his thing for zipper belts.

by Zanreo at 1st Jul 2018, 9:42 AM

Yeah - and when designing Square and Enix (the latter who has yet to show up) I tried making them so Squeenix would look like a "mix" of them x3

by Ajax at 24th Jun 2018, 4:17 AM

Are you gonna do a recent events comic?

by MadJak91 at 24th Jun 2018, 8:27 PM

Huh. GBA game(s)?
I know they released remasters of FF4,5,6 on the GBA and later FF3,4 on the DS. They had the phase when they started porting old FFs to all kinds of Nintendo handhelds and even planned a FF1 3DS port but it obviously died.
Is this about those GBA remasters or some original GBA games in which case I am probably not familiar...

Although I recall Crystal Chronicles. Never played it though.

by Zanreo at 1st Jul 2018, 9:43 AM

Well, this was just a Gamecube game that let you connect a GBA for some extra features (and was required for multiplayer)

by Ajax at 29th Jun 2018, 3:01 AM

Going to do anything about Nintendo and Microsoft seeming to be even closer now considering they aired a joint trailer?

by Zanreo at 1st Jul 2018, 9:43 AM

Hmmm... maybe?

by Ajax at 15th Jul 2018, 11:21 PM

Looks like Konami might get better, but I'm not holding out much hope.

by Ajax at 15th Jul 2018, 11:23 PM

Or not, I'm just going by the fact the Konami rep said that they were interested again.

by BackSet at 17th Jul 2018, 8:08 PM

All I can think when I look at Square in disguise is Auron with white hair.

by Ajax at 11th Aug 2018, 4:01 AM

I'm starting to lose hope for an update.

Dang, Is this comic dead? Just discovered it as a link while binging old Level 30 Psychiatry comics. Binged this in a few days and would like to see more. Also, I'm kinda confused on some characters genders, as the female developers aren't always easy to differentiate (I thought Valve and Konaki were dudes until the comic said otherwise)

by Ajax at 7th Jan 2019, 5:01 AM

Sadly seems to have fallen into obscurity.

"Updates currently irregular"

I think you should update this to "Updates currently never"

Rest In Peace Consolers. You were a good webcomic, but it seems you too have died

by Herbe at 1st Apr 2020, 11:22 PM

This used to be one of my favorite webcomics :/ I really miss it!!

by Dorkshove at 5th Oct 2021, 11:02 AM

I miss it too!

Great comic! Keep drawing!
A few things though...
You should do more comics with Game Freak! About the Sword & Shield NationalDex controversy! Pokemon Gun! Legends Arceus giving the chance marry your Lopunny waifu! And Fantasian, the new game on Apple Arcade made by Squenix's old Hironobu Sakaguchi! (A great opportunity for Squenix to yell at Apple!)
